Description
Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge ‘Cuvée Tradition’ Bosquet des Papes 2019/20
Bosquet des Papes, Châteauneuf du Pape
A few years ago, this traditional 32ha estate had a new lease of life when son Nicolas Boiron took over from his father Maurice. Both men are built like rugby forwards and the wines have a tendency to be like them; therefore, it is advisable to keep them for a little while before drinking.
Bright ruby-red. High-pitched, spice-accented red fruit aromas are complicated by floral and herb nuances that build with air. Sweet, penetrating raspberry and cherry flavors show very good depth and energy, while licorice pastille and white pepper qualities develop slowly. Rich yet lively in style, finishing with very good focus and gentle tannins that frame the appealingly sweet fruit. This wine is an excellent Châteauneuf.
Grapes: 75% Grenache, 11% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre, 3% Counoise/Cinsault/Vaccarèse
