In 2003, the Portal del Montsant winery was founded, located in the former Marçà cooperative, a building dedicated to the production of wines since the beginning of the last century. This emergent Montsant winery stands out for its work recovering abandoned terraces and hillsides, working with the main autochthonous varieties of the territory: Garnacha and Cariñena. Small plots, of great quality and with soil varieties (clayey, calcareous and sandy), of different orientations and latitudes, make up a selection rich in diversity and personality of unique vineyards. A dense colour, with violet and cardinal red tones, predominating; very dark, very attractive. Bluish edges, with a completely opaque rim. Fruit, mostly dark fruit, plum juice, berry compote. Spicy notes, all enveloped in a suggestive toffee nose, giving a hint of sweetness to the wine. Fresh entry, a growing evolution that spreads in all directions, frank, the sensations suggested in the aroma are found here and accompany us through the long post-taste. Good body and well structured.
