Description
Sancerre Blanc, Domaine Vacheron 2022
Domaine Vacheron, Sancerre
From one of the oldest established families in Sancerre, cousins Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron have been fighting to regain their position at the top of the appellation. The recent vintages from Domaine Vacheron have been exceptional and equally good for the reds as for the whites. Practising organic and biodynamic methods. With aromas of fragrant gooseberries, honeydew melon and mint, Sancerre Blanc Domaine Vacheron 2014 is crisp on the palate with an intense flinty minerality together with juicy limes and gooseberries. It has superb balance and is a classic example from this region. ‘Les Romains’ is one of the rare single-vineyard Sancerre’s grown on flint soils and is regarded by many critics as one of the benchmark wines of the appellation.
Full bodied with a refreshing acidity and serious complexity. Notes of lime zest, grapefruit, starfruit, sorrel, earth and truffle, together with a powerful smoky, saline minerality, persist on the finish and delight the senses.
