Tokara prides itself on making wines that are site specific, produced from their picture perfect, prime location vineyards on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, the Highlands in the Elgin district and Siberia in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. High altitude sites with cool temperatures contribute to the restrained and elegant style of winemaker Miles Mossop’s wines. South Africa Sweet.
The grapes originated from Tokara’s premium vineyards on the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain. Only grapes from the best blocks and from the best parts of these blocks are used.
This wine has a stunning vibrant golden hue with flecks of green on the rim. The aromas are pungent and intense with notes of cassis, passion fruit lemon grass and a hint of toasted brioche. The entry on the palate is crisp and clean with intense flavors of lime, lemongrass, passion fruit and guava. The mid palate has creamy notes but is overall crisp and chalky leading to an intense aftertaste of nettles and a hint of saltiness.
