Müller Thurgau Cantina Toblino, Lakes Valley, Trentino Alto-Adige 2019
Cantina Toblino, Lakes Valley, Trentino Alto-Adige
The organic Cantina di Toblino was founded in 1960 in the Trentino Alto-Adige region of northern Italy. The vines and winery are situated next to Lake Toblino where the gentle breezes and cooling microclimate make for excellent growing conditions. There are currently 500 members who contribute to the co op and the company itself farms approximately 40 hectares locally. The wines enjoy DOC Trentino status and in 1999 a new winery was built next to the original building to further improve quality and production
Grape variety: Obtained in 1882 by the Swiss researcher Hermann Müller, originally from the Canton of Thurgau, crossing the Riesling Renano with the Chasselas.
Vineyards: The pedoclimatic conditions and the very particular exposure of the medium – high hill and mountain vineyards, located in Valle di Cavedine, in Bleggio and in the Stenico area, are the secret of the perfumes and elegance of this Müller Thurgau. Only here, in fact, the cool climate and the accentuated thermal excursion make it possible to express the best varietal characteristics of the vine.
Vinification: Cold pressing with maceration to guarantee the best aromatic extraction of the grapes. Fermentation at controlled temperature.
Organoleptic characteristics: Straw yellow with bright green reflections. On the nose the Müller Thurgau expresses intense and elegant varietal sensations, with pleasantly vegetal aromatic notes. Flavor dry, fresh and with a good persistence.
Its aromatic and freshness make it an ideal companion of fish dishes, especially shellfish and seafood, but also fresh cheeses. Excellent as an aperitif.
Grape: 100% Muller Thurgau
