Roussette de Savoie ‘Cru Frangy‘ Domaine Bruno Lupin 2020/21
Domaine Bruno Lupin
Unique wines bursting with airy mountain freshness, minerally grip and vibrant acidity. However, this is a superb example of Roussette de Savoie, an AOC for dry white wines made mainly from the Altesse grape (aka locally as Roussette). This is a late ripening, low yielding grape with excellent acidity and delicious mountain herb aromas. ‘Frangy’ (named after the village in which it is made) Roussette from 50 year old vines south facing vines grown on limestone soil. The tiny 5 hectare Domaine Lupin is run along organic lines by Bruno Lupin and the award-winning ‘Frangy’ is the only wine he makes. A vibrant pale golden in colour. Look for spicy gingerbread aromas with hints of green apple. On the palate, creamy in texture with notes of nougat allied to yeasty flavours from the lees.
