Description
Sauvignon Blanc Casa Azul, Cachapoal, Chile 2022
Casa Azul is a large producer situated in the Rapel Valley in Chile’s central zone. The grapes for their wines are sourced from both the Rapel Valley and the Curico Valley where the rich alluvial soils combine with a Mediterranean climate to produce wines with a characteristic freshness. This is very much a new world style of Sauvignon – crisp intense and fruity. The grapes are sourced from the Rapel Valley and the wine is unoaked.
A pale yellow in colour, the aromas are of gooseberries and elderflower with a grassy edge. Very fresh on the palate with primary flavours of pineapple and passion fruit. The finish is light and fresh. This makes for refreshing, uncomplicated drinking. Try with fish cakes, seafood ravioli or a cheese tart.
